Story warnings: Well, Death kinda maybe hits on the Doctor. In that a non-entity abstract being is capable of hitting on anyone.

Summary: The Fifth Doctor suffers a crisis of conscience and builds himself an android Master, for reasons which will be very clear to anyone who has seen 'Planet of Fire', upon the heels of which this story comes. Sadly, the Fifth Doctor is not long to live, and his traumatic regeneration has some painful consequences.
Auteur's Note: Started as comment!fic a while back, mutated into previous fic 'he cannot meet his Master's eyes' over here, and shows no signs of keeling over and dying like a good boy yet. Hasn't been beta'd in the technical sense and so concrit is more welcome even than usual.

( The title works on at least three levels. I'll be very surprised if anyone catches them all. )
