Holiday Challenge Wrap Up

Only two of you played this round. Ah, but wasn't it a good two?

Though really, doesn't Christmas crack defy seasonality? I'd be happy to get some any time of year, and would merrily add it to the list. If you know of any slashy Holiday offerings I've /not/ included, do let me know and I'll put up links for completion's sake.

Cliche Challenge

You know tried, true, tested slash/fanfic cliches?

A HELPFUL LIST OF TERRIBLY INSPIRING SUGGESTIONS )

Were you terribly inspired just now? I was ever so inspired.

What's Up:

We want the sort of tropes slash is famous for. Not that the fic should be badly written a la the early slash which largely spawned this list, where, if you've read it, you must admit there was a good deal too much of starring soulfully into each others' eyes as the rapturous cries of birds in the wood witnessed the couples' perfect love-wrestling or something--take your vampirefic seriously! Or crackily! But these cliches have the potential to be developed into something hot, hilarious, or to be surprisingly inventive rethinkings of plots we've seen a thousand times. Any way you slice it I think it'll make for some deeply enjoyable fic.

Plus, perhaps drunk!sex or forced-marriage fic is a thing of yours. This is your hour!

How to Play:

None of these cliches doing it for you? Add your own! Extra points for using MORE THAN ONE! Simply point out what cliche you're using in your fanfic header when you post to b_e and tag your post 'cliche challenge' to edify readers and make my life easier when I'm wrapping up the challenge, please. I don't want to miss your fic.

A Note on Classic Slash Cliche:

The point of this challenge, in a way, is not for these cliches (amnesia or what have you) to occur incidentally. They should be devices that enable romantic or sexual development between the characters--underlying and progressing your plot and whatnot. I think it'll be more fun if you enter into the cliche whole-heartedly rather than just giving it a glancing nod of acknowledgment.

Thanks to veterans of the fanfic trenches [livejournal.com profile] bagheera_san, [livejournal.com profile] gritsinmisery and [livejournal.com profile] hangingfire for help with this wonderful cliche list.
