Something I've been pondering the last few days.

If (ha! When) the Master returns, would you prefer him in the form of Simm!Master? Or do you think there should be a new Master to match the new Doctor - just as Delgado!Master was Three's Master, and Ainley!Master particularly belonged to Five?

Characters: young!Master, Original Time Lord Character, Doctor/Master implied
Era: Academy
Rating: PG (for violence only, sorry, they're eight). But, it's pretty dark.
Summary: When the universe turns itself inside out, the hero becomes the villain, the villain becomes the hero. Life becomes death, death becomes life, mercy becomes violence and violence becomes mercy. And all it takes is the destruction of one child.
Episodes: This fic will make no sense whatsoever if you haven't seen Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords and End of Time parts 1 and 2. Also contains vague, non-spoilery references to the BFA audio 'Master'.

The universe is finite and cyclical, yet infinite in its circles, endless as the drum-beats in the Master's mind.
