Thought on the Doctor's death

Inspired by this post on [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho.

Say the Gauntlet of Rassilon couldn't get through the glass on the radiation chamber, so that when all the humans reverted back the one inside stayed the Master. Wilf wouldn't have let him out, so at the end of the epic showdown the Master would be the one stuck inside.

What now? Does the Doctor sacrifice himself to save the Master?

Presumably the stolen body wouldn't be able to regenerate. The Master can't fry the controls from the inside because it would set off the radiation. The Doctor has just murdered his entire race again, and now he has real hope for fixing the Master since he knows where the drums come from.

On the other hand, the Master is still evil and it was his own fault for overloading the machine in the first place. And it would be a very bad idea to go through regeneration sickness in front of him.

Thoughts?
