March on Earth
Snow falls on the shoots of spring
winds interrupt your moments of warmth
but when you decide you hate the month
shut your door to the fickle weather
jump into the island sunset poster on your wall
you miss the sting of sleet on your cheeks
the buddy, boggy smell of the air.
You hear a robin through the window
even while you meditate on the tropics
so give up, turn off the heat
and wait for the cold to creep back to you.
I feel I am an Earthling,
physically grounded with my head in space
and the month has Mastered me.
