I'm Curious About the Future and the Past

My friend shinodabear  and a short fic I'm slowly working on got me tripping down the "what-if" path.  In an uncharacteristic fit of optimism, I'm going to believe with the faith of a convent full of nuns that Mr. Moffat will be giving us more Doctor/Master.  So, I'm wondering...

What if Mr. Moffat is, as I suspect he might be, an adherent to the Cartmel Master Plan and, even if he doesn't go with that Plan full bore in his run as DW producer (that's what his title's going to be, right?), where will that be leading Doctor/Master? Somewhere darker (and by that I don't just mean kinkier and more sadistic sex, although it could certainly mean that, too)?  Somewhere where they become more polarized?  Thoughts? Opinions?
