As always you can sign up to recommend here. I also want to step outside my basic role here, and suggest that if you are a Delgado!Master appreciator, you should go here (to the excellent [livejournal.com profile] ontd_who), enjoy an amusing gif, and tell the world why Delgado is cool.

On to the drabbles! And more rhyming slang:

This week's prompts are:

Trouble*

and/or

Wife

May I be so bold as to recommend you read The Honeymooners by [livejournal.com profile] neveralarch? A(n excellent) response to one of our anon meme prompts - in which the Master has definite Wife Trouble.

*Is 'trouble' too generic? If it is, just keep wife, and substitute... any of these: Carving (Knife), Bread (Knife), Duchess (of Fife), Fork (and Knife), or my personal favourite Bag** (for Life).

**Though obviously 'bag' is not a good thing to call your wife. Duchess, one expects, is much more acceptable.

Hello, [livejournal.com profile] best_enemies denizens! Long time, no see! My name is [livejournal.com profile] srevans and I'll be recommending you guys some smashing Doctor/Master fanwork for the next fortnight. To start us out I've got a pair of thematically related fics, wherein Three-era characters run into Simm!Master.

First up:

Title: Boots
Characters: Jo, Simm!Master (implied Doctor/Master)
Length: 2,000 wds
Author's Summary: In the earliest days of the Year That Never Was, Jo Grant pays a visit to the Valiant.
Warnings: PG; backdrop of violence
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] janeturenne
Why this must be read: Long before Martha Jones laughed in the Master's face, Jo was doing it once a week. Jo's incisive comments serve both to illustrate the change the Master's gone through since he was Delgado and reaffirm exactly what a bad-ass motherfucker she is.
Excerpt: "Oddly enough, I was just attempting to remember what I liked enough about you to stop me killing you, in those days."
"I wasn't afraid of you," she says simply, staring him in the eye. "Do you know, I think I'm still not."
He grins then, mad and manic. "You should be."

Secondly:

Title: Cooks in the Kitchen
Characters: Three/Simm!Master/Delgado!Master/Ten
Length: 4,700 wds
Author's Summary: The Doctor's TARDIS interprets 'lock your coordinates' as 'return to the last time your coordinates were locked.' The Brig isn't sure about the Doctor's new lab assistant. The Master hates Old Spice. Delgado!Master just wants Ten to eat more.
Warnings: NC-17 for sex
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] x_losfic
Why this must be read: Did you seriously just look at that string of characters screwing and not immediately click on the fic link? It's funny, it's sexy, it's tongue-in-cheek. A humorous look on what transpired between UNIT, 1971 and that manic regeneration, 2007.*
*do I care about the timeline supposedly being different than the serial airing dates? not a whit!
Excerpt: The Brigadier observed the slender, elegant, young man. He reminded the Brigadier strongly of someone else. Harry Saxon kept darting awkward, slit-eyed glances at the Doctor so compulsively he must not even realize he was doing it. The Brigadier mentally added a sub-file to the conclusions he’d already come to about the Doctor, specifically those in the general area of how he might have come to know the nuisance currently plaguing them, who dearly wanted the Doctor to address him as ‘Master.’

Authors deserve comments! "That was awesome" often means so much. ♥
