Podfic is an audio recording of fanfic, like an audio book but written by fans about fannish stuff and read by fans. It's a great way to enjoy fic while your out and about, or doing something that means you couldn't read fic usually (i.e. data entry). In many cases a podfic also brings something new to a fanfic, so that it can be enjoyed in a new way by readers and by the writers. I also like it as a way to participate in fandom without writing or drawing. All you need is a microphone, a piece of free recording software (like Audacity), and the author's permission.

There isn't a lot of Doctor Who podfic. Please help to change that.

podtor_who is a one-month Doctor Who podfic challenge that runs from tomorrow. The aim is to record 1000 words of podfic (no more than 10 minutes) and post it on a day of your choice.
