Title: The Scent of Funeral Pyres
Characters/Pairing: Six, implied Six/Master
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Doctor Who is not mine.
Summary: No matter how hard he tried, he never could get rid of that horrible smell.

Author's Notes: So somehow [livejournal.com profile] vforvegan talked me into writing a Six/Crispy drabble. I am sure that is not what you had in mind V, and a lot less porny (like no at all) than you probably would prefer, but hope you enjoy it anyway.

The Scent of Funeral Pyres

No matter how hard he tried, he never could get rid of that horrible smell. Burned flesh. Black, burned flesh. Black, burned flesh like charcoal. The sight of it he could keep away from his memory, even if he had to do it with clashing and too bright colours. But the smell never went away.

Two regenerations ago he had smelled it, coming from a man he had once called a friend.

He wondered how his fifth self could have forgotten about that, when he had let him burn, when he had made him. Part of him hated his former incarnation for this deeply. Because he couldn't forgot and couldn't help to imagine having it smelled on Sarn as well.

When he met the man dressed in black velvet again he was glad that the stolen body was still intact, still whole under his clothes. Not burned at all or falling apart, even though the madness and the hatred, that had grown in his eyes ever since his body had been distorted to nothing more than a black husk, was still there.

He was glad, because he wouldn't have to smell the terrible scent anymore.
