I don't know how I wasn't a member of this community before (t'was linked), but better late than never!

There is nothing interesting about me to actually say in an introduction, so I will skip straight to the bad poetry.

Hi, there! So, uhm, I am rather bad at writing introductions, because I never know what to write and then I get carried away (and apparently I get interrupted a lot). Basically, I've been following this community for a little while and thought that it seems really nice and cozy, so I decided to join.

I started watching Doctor Who with Utopia/SoD/LotTL and John Simm's Master forever owns my soul and I'd vote for him any day, because he drew me into the show. That, however, doesn't mean I love any of the other Masters less (Although Roberts!Master still creeps me out and not in a good way and I have yet to see Crispy!Master). As for the Doctor, my favourite is, oddly enough, Grant's Doctor in Scream of the Shalka, followed by Pertwee's and Tennant's Doctor. Unsurprisingly my favourite Master/Doctor pairings would be Simm!Master/Ten, because they are so psychotic and broken and downright tragic, and the Shalka Boys, because they are the only ones who probably could work it out, then again any Doctor/Master combination is fine with me.

As for personal fanon/canon:
- I think in some way the Doctor is responsible for how the Master turned out to be.
- The Master loved/loves the Doctor more than the other way around (However, I like to pretend that it is not that way).
- When Yana said, he was found as a child, it was the truth. The Time Lords brought the Master back at the last minute and had no time to clone/built/loom a proper adult body.
- Shalka!Doctor is such a bitter Time Lord, because he rescued the entire universe (probably stopped the Time War from happening) with the Master's help, but had to sacrifice his companion; as a thank you he was exiled from home and turned into the Time Lords' errand-boy.
- In a parallel universe the Shalka Boys have found/made a proper body for the Master and after Alison played "marriage" counsellor, they decided to retire and settle down and they live happily ever after in their own fashion.

Hey, I'm fairly new to Dr. Who. I started watching the New series after the 2008 Christmas special, watched all of that, then started on the old episodes. I've watched all the episodes but the First and Second Doctor, and a few of Three, which I've yet to get to.

It's interesting to notice how the dynamic between them is different depending on the incarnation. I firmly believe that they were in a relationship at the Academy, but when Theta realized the Master was insane, he abandoned him, sowing the seeds for obsessive hate and a desire for revenge. Three and Delgado seem almost friendly at times, and Five seems to have the reaction "Oh, not you again!" I'm guessing the Master's obsession with killing the Doctor got worse over time, until the events we see in Utopia/TSoD/LotTL.

Hey. I'm newish to Dr Who (started watching New Who last fall and then spent my spring semester watching obscene amounts of Old Who), but it and Doctor/Master have devoured my brain. I'm normally not a big enemy-slash fan, but there's so much more to Doctor/Master, and I love the bits in canon we see that remind you why they used to be friends (like all ten million scenes of Three and Delgado!Master Doing Science and pining for the old days of being Lab Partners With Benefits).

Nine's "my Doctor" (despite his Masterlessness), but Three's definitely my favorite old-school Doctor, and about half of that is because of the amazing slash and chemistry between him and Delgado!Master (the other half is just down to Three's inherent badassery and awesomeness). Five/Ainley is pretty good, but it loses some of the "ex-best friends" subtext that was such a great part of Three/Master. really, I like any combination of the two characters, even Eight/Roberts (I guess ... though I love the totally-noncanon-but-occasionally-ficced Eight/Jacobi!Master pairing. their love is so well-dressed!).

I keep trying to fanwank some way to work Shalka into my mental canon, cause despite the "eh"ness of the actual serial, the gnats-wing-from-canon Doctor/Master stuff is love, and Shalka Master is one of my favorite Masters (<3 Derek Jacobi). What are some theories out there on how Shalka fits into the Doctor's timeline? alternate universe, I guess ... though I saw someone suggest that Shalka Nine is actually Shalka Valyard, and the idea of the last version of the Doctor living with a Master lovebot is pretty intriguing.

Greetings. I am quite likely to mainly lurk, but an intro comment was requested so here I am. *waves*

I was introduced to Doctor Who through the new version, and aside from episodes scattered across the 'net I have no idea how to get a hold of Classic Who. Amazon (us and uk versions) hardly have anything, though I should probably do a more thorough search. (Anyone have any ideas?)

Um. Personal fannon? I'm not sure I've got much Master/Doctor related, due to a sad lack of cannon knowledge about them. There is one thing, though: from watching Last of the Time Lords, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons the Doctor needs the Master so much is that he really, really doesn't want to be in control anymore. He's sick of it. I'm pretty sure, in the right circumstances, that the Doctor would delight in calling his dearest arch-foe by his given name. *grins wickedly*
