Hello. My name is Anna. I'm a fan of Old Who mostly and the Doctor/Master therin, though I watch the new series as well. It's just too easy in the new series. Easy is no fun. Easy is not the Doctor. Easy is most definitely not the Master. *other opinions of this ship are avaliable*
I keep my fanon nice and fliud, so I can latch on and enjoy all the lovely ideas I come across. Give me lovely, evil ideas. *panic mode*I'm supposed to be studying for my exams, What the hell am I doing here at half past three in the morning?!! The intricacies of Doctor/Master relationships in varios eras are NOT likely to come up at my physics lab final!!!*panic mode cancel*
Delgado!Master is favorite.

Intro! I'm called Paul. I'm a fan of both Old and NewWho, but I came to the fandom over the past few months through a friend's NewWho recommendation. I can't say which Who or which Doctor/Master combo I like best-- they're all just amazing, in my opinion.
I suppose my personal fanon goes with the whole Theta/Koschei-in-academy-days fanon as well. I'm definitely seeing a History between the two of them. Anyway, thanks for setting up this community; I like the idea of its running like a small group rather than a large, nameless one. I'm usually into obscure fandoms or pairings, so I suppose I've developed a preference for communities of this style.
I do write fanfiction, almost exclusively slash, going through the general Nerd Fandoms like Star Trek, Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings, that sort of thing, and then my 60s fandoms The Beatles and The Monkees. I've not yet tried my hand writing in this fandom; there's so much canon and so much source material that I must admit I don't feel quite prepared for it yet. I'm flaky, so I don't generally offer myself to beta or commit to writing projects, but I do love this pairing, and well, what better reason to join? ^__^

Ah. Hallo. I only just realised this was here. > > (The Doctor's attention span, I have it.)
I started shipping them...oh, over a year ago, I'd think, starting with the Master and Five. (The King's Demons rather sealed that. I mean, really.) I love the Fifth Doctor to death, and the Master and their relationship was fascinating.
Then I started watching Three. And then...well, I ship all of their incarnations, some more than others. (Probably Ten/Master the least, just because they're my least favourite, and I didn't think Simm Master lived up to his potential.)
I always figured their issues began as children, but on the whole they were happy then - with each other, if not their environment - even if they didn't always understand each other. Even when Theta was callous or flighty, when Koschei was bitter or obsessive.
I do tend to incorporate the drums, as a manifestation of sadistic tendencies that started very young. Koschei could have controlled them, and did for a long time, but his experiences and choices led him to becoming the Master - and what he sees as the Doctor abandoning him. (Who did so, I think, because he didn't realise how important he was to Koschei at that point, or to anyone but Susan.)
Neither of them was ever 'just good' or 'just bad' - just lonely children with myriad issues they worked out in different ways. I have a whole bunch of fanon worked out for the Doctor and his wife and children, and I think Koschei approved generally but still felt distanced. If they did have a romantic relationship, I imagine it was on and off, and they both loved other people. (Perhaps Koschei less so; I imagine he was more focused on Theta than Theta was on him.) Whether he ever made a family of his own, I've never decided on.
...Also, I tend to ramble.

Hello! I found my way here thanks to [info]x_los, who asked me over for my meta (an invitation to talk? Who can resist?). I come by Who via growing up with it. Tom Baker's spooky blue time vortex with accompanying haunting theme music is one of my very earliest memories. Old and new, every regeneration (even those with Coats of DOOOOOOOOM!), I love my Doctor. :)
Embarrassing fangirl fact: From the moment I learned you could make your own ringtones, I wanted a cell phone so I could make it sound like the TARDIS.
As for the Doctor and the Master, I haven't precisely slashed them all my life, but I always suspected there was something up with those two. They have become my only OTP ever, which kinda surprised me because I'm not usually about the OTP, but...well, god, look at them. Anyway, somebody above mentioned their love of mindfuckery, and I'm down with that. I also love, probably beyond all things, the Doctor and the Master getting their geek on together. I suspect that's how they really have sex. Other than that, I have no personal fanon-canon, because people keep coming up with such wonderful ones and I don't want to discriminate against any of them.
Cheers!

Hello everyone! I'm Eights, and mostly I am a huge lurker. I like tea and books and sometimes I bake things. I came to the fandom through New Who and Torchwood, but since then I have discovered Classic Who (Three is my favorite - those clothes! that sass!) and I've been working my way through the old serials ever since. I make artsy things and I write, but I've never posted anything on livejournal - but I have a feeling I will be inspired and contribute to the community a bit in the future. : )
My personal fanon is that the Doctor and the Master's relationship is built on a solid foundation of repression and passive aggression, which began when they were in school together and since then never really got itself out of the passing notes stage. I suppose the modern equivalent of them would be:
Master: I wrote on his facebook wall a day ago and he still hasn't responded!
Doctor: Tra la la physics
Master: I know he read what I said! Why isn't he talking to me anymore?
Doctor: La la la reverse polarity
Master: I know! A new tentacly monster will be sure to get me some attention!
Or something like that.
Sometimes things work out when they're not being all insecure at each other. They'll smile shyly at one another across a TARDIS console while subtly fondling the phallic object of the week. Other times, one of them will say something awkward and look away, embarrassed, and then the other will interpret it the wrong way; they'll both spend the remainder of the time being unresolved and homicidal and passive aggressive like the emotional adolescents they are. ANYWAY Doctor/Master is GOODTIMES.
