hi, I've been lurking and reading every last scrap of fic I can find on this comm for a bit. finally decided that enough was enough and I should commit and join the community as well. As regards knowledge about Doctor who... until I started reading fanfic, I had no clue that Who even existed. The phone conversation that the Doctor has with the Master in LotTL convinced me that whatever they are to each other they refuse to let go of that relation. Whatever it is. Could even say that at various times they are obsessed with each other. And that by the time of New Who, their issues with each other have gotten so complicated that it might take the rest of their natural lifespans to untangle properly.

Possibly the Tenth Doctor is also a little too desperate to care, since he seems to be feeling the lifespan disparity rather badly by that time.

Hello! I'm a chronic lurker and read the profile and thought I'd leave a note. I got into the fandom in 2005 but made sure to watch a good amount of early stuff before I started the new series. Eight was my first; BBC rebroadcast of the Shada radioplay *tearful nostalgia.*

I was never into slash before Doctor Who, but Doctor/Master just seems so patently obvious. I love the EPICK EPICKNESS of their relationship, all the galaxy destroying godliness. That plus the crack and lulz. Delgado is my favourite Master. My favorite ship is probably Ten/Simm!Master because they're both cracky and ridiculous. I also like Theta/Koschei because Academy Fic usually has a part for the Rani, and the world needs more Rani.

I have more fic ideas than I have time skill to write, but I'm going to try doing more drawings or art. *offers puppets*

Also, the Master is the reason I've started wearing black leather gloves.

Erm, Hi!
I'm Agent, and I've been a Who fan for a couple of years now. I sort of got into it by accident, having missed the first and second series first time around and stumbling upon a repeat of "New Earth" on BBC3 the summer juts after it aired.
Since then I've gone all crazy and have been collecting as much Old School as my student poverty will allow. I've seen at least some of each Doctor, though I did cheat at that a bit (of the 11 old school stories I've got, two are multiple Doctor stories and two feature regenerations).
When I was new to the fandom, I kept hearing about how awesome the Doctor/Master pairing was, so was naturally all over-excited leading up to the end of series three. Was not disapointed, fell in love with both the Master and John Simm, and have set about trying to find as much of the older Masters (which would have gone better if I actually did my research before hunting; sure I've got some of each one, but I've somehow managed to more or less entirely miss Five/Ainley)

I don't really have my own personal fanon (which is frankly weird for me), but rather accept other people's interpretations.

I've been lurking here for a while and managed to completely miss the intro post, silly me.

Anyway, I'm Muppet. I got into Doctor Who when the new series started in 2005, but I didn't get proper fannish about it until Season 3 and the Master's appearance therein. The S3 finale inspired me to go take a look at classic!Master, and since I'd quite liked Three in The Five Doctors, I decided to start there. I picked Claws of Axos pretty much at random and found to my surprise and delight that this Doctor/Master thing had been going on for decades.

Anyway, I've since mired myself in old-school, especially the Three era, so Three/Delgado!Master is my Doctor/Master flavor of choice, though I won't say no to Ten/Simm or Four-through-Seven/Ainley. I haven't got much of a personal fanon yet, other than that I tend to read the Master as not so much evil as simply more alien than the Doctor (i.e. less influenced by interacting with humanity) and thus less bound by morals and motivations that are understandable to the human companions and point-of-view characters, but that hardly counts as fanon, right?

(Although I do have two mildly batshit theories re: War Chief!Master and Movie!Master-who-actually-wasn't-the-Master-at-all, but I think they both venture into tl:dr territory.)

...also, once I do delurk, I tend to go on and on. Sorry. :)

So I have been lurking for ages, and then joined and lurked some more, and then thought, no! I am being a bad, bad lurker, and must at the very least put something in the introduction post.

So, hello! I'm another mostly-New-Who girl, I'm afraid to say, though I did watch bits of old Who when I was little on the odd occasion I heard the theme music and hurried downstairs and it wasn't the ending credits. Curse my sleeping in late...

I also, um, play Simm!Master on a very crazy roleplay thing with characters from practically every fandom that existed ever. Ten is there too, but tragically went and got married before the Master turned up. (To a blond, of course.) The Master was not best pleased. So I have sort of come to bask in the glow of your meta/wonderful access to old school episodes and let it fill all those crevices in my oldschool knowledge, and offer whatever insights of my own I can manage to produce.

In short, this place is awesome and gets insane gas mask thumbs up.
