Why this must be listened to: Every song on this fanmix struck me as being perfectly appropriate to Doctor/Master—at the same time, it allows for so much flexibility in personal canon. Each song can be seen as referring to a different, particular version of the Doctor or the Master, for a different interpretation of their relationship. There’s something for everyone, both in terms of fandom and in terms of musical taste—whether you want Radiohead about Koschei pining after Theta, or goth rock about Ten and Simm’s addictive love/hate relationship, it’s here. At the same time, the songs fit together cohesively, not only in a lyrical but a musical sense.
