SO, when
x_losfic posted
this week's match-up, Time Monster vs. Castrovalva, I immediately started flailing because I cannot think of two serials I am more fond of. I thought, why don't I rewatch them?
Then I thought a little harder and went, oh my god, I now know a couple hundred people on the internet who are also some A+ shipper geeks, what if I could watch it
with all of them? It would be a never-ending squeefest!
I
started a thread about this in the aforementioned battle royale post, but I got impatient and am moving it to the main community: is there any interest in doing this? As
marah_sarie correctly pointed out, time zones are kind of a bitch to work out, especially when you're talking about two stories which run 150 min (Time Monster) and 100 min (Castrovalva). Here are my thoughts on how we could make this work out, if there's a good amount of interest.
- We will need to convene in some sort of chat room, so that we can do live, synchronized commentary. The two candidates that come to mind immediately are AIM (which I am familiar with) and IRC (which I am not). Anybody have any preferences, or better suggestions?
- Doing all of either serial in a single day would be a monstrous thing to schedule, since there is pretty much no way we could pick a suitable time for everyone everywhere if we needed to find two-hour blocks. I propose doing two episodes of each, for maybe a week or so-- so the 6 eps of Time Monster would take three nights going 2, 2, and 2, and Castrovalva would take two nights going 2, 2.
- I apologize ahead of time for being Western-centric, but my suspicion is that most members are in either the US or Europe. Do people think it would be better:
- To try to schedule a time which is morningtime for the US and eveningtime for Europe?
OR
- To schedule two or more viewing times-- one which is convenient for USers, one for Europeans, etc-- and maybe have someone from each tell the community about what a good time we had so that we don't become too splintered?
I would love to hear everybody's thoughts on having such a party! I am happy to be the organizer for this; I totally love being Master of All. >:D
