End of Time Spoof
Pairing: Ten/Simm!Master. All the Master/Doctor content of EOT, plus a really awkward sex scene.
Length: about an hour
Warnings: cursing, questionable humor. Canonical and noncanonical character death. Not really worksafe.
Creators on youtube: Tony Coburn and Thomas Rees-Kaye, at timelordfromhell
Why this must be watched: So, I wasn't the biggest fan of the End of Time. I realize that people do like it, but even you have to admit it was a little... silly at times. A little hard to follow. Even if it had been perfect, it was the big send-off of David Tennant, so it's unsurprising that so many parodies showed up on the internet after the episodes aired. This one's my favorite.
I've watched it four times now, with and without friends. Some of the dialogue has found its way into my conversations. It makes me laugh within the first minute of starting. Its production values aren't high, but Coburn and Rees-Kaye make up for that with brilliant impersonations, willingness to mix up the actors and the characters, and an obvious respect and love for Doctor Who. Even if they didn't really like EoT either.
A quick warning - Coburn and Rees-Kaye remind me pretty strongly of any college-type comedian. That means some fairly questionable and somewhat offensive humor. On the other hand, you get rapping Time Lords, a great rendition of the Master's drums, and the true explanation for where the script for the End of Time came from. If you too weren't the biggest fan of EoT, watch this. If you liked the episodes, but don't mind having fun poked at them, try it. And if you loved EoT and you don't want to watch this, I'll have EoT-themed art recs on Friday that should be more your thing.
