Title: Architecture and Mortality
Characters/Pairings: vaguely Nine/Yana, Rose Tyler
Rating: PG
Setting/Spoilers: AU branching off from the end of “Rose”
Summary: The Doctor takes a wrong turn at the destruction of Earth, and ends up travelling all the way to the end of the universe.
Note: So, once upon a time I got it into my head that I was going to write an epic fanfic novella where Yana becomes Nine's companion. My completion of that novella is looking increasingly unlikely, as a different project has taken up most of my fandom time for the past few months, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to post the short, self-contained beginning for Nine's birthday.
Huge thanks to
neveralarch and
janeturenne for for their input on this!
It turns out that the end of the universe is absolutely lousy with humans, and that they've all got big, stupid, human ideas about outlasting space-time itself.
