* That I screwed up our attempt to re-assert chronological watching by not doing this last week. I just realized that too. My Bad.

* That there was no Discussion Time this Sunday. Apologies, I was dead busy. Rather than trying to rush a late one and mush it too near the next for proper conversation to flower, I plan on doing an extra-special larger Discussion Time the upcoming Sunday-ish for the three audios which feature the Master, namely Master, Sympathy for the Devil and Dust Breeding, all of which are available in the Episodes section. If you've not had an opportunity to look at those, or just want in on the Sweet Meta Action, maybe look at this an an excuse to check one or more of them out?

* That birds suddenly appear, coinciding with every incidence of your nearness--their wee, mournful, beaky expressions seeming to suggest some uncanny form of avian longing to be close to you. This has nothing to do with Doctor/Master, you just might have noticed it. I think you should look into the matter, as it's really starting to creep everyone out.

So if they had run off together at the end: [1] Jo, [2] Brig or [3] running off to pick up Barbara for the coveted role of 'Doctor's Best Man?' Or would the Master get Too Jealous and insist that being the groom didn't mean he couldn't double up on roles (a la the Lord High Everything Else in The Mikado) and be Best Man as well? What I'm trying to say is someone must write 'But First You Must Make An Honest Renegade Time Lord Out Of Me' Au!crack for this episode. Are you someone?

* Behold our lovely new layout! All praises to marah_sarie, who made it: I just slapped on her lovely work, via her 'so excurcuatingly thorough even an x_los could follow it"-style instructions.

* You may have notices Yet More Stuff over in episodes: audios, books, comics, Shalka, Fatal Death: mad props to the Seekrit Helper who's named under f-lock over there. There's some awesome stuff for arting in the comics, and to be honest I don't think I've ever seen Shalka used in a vid. The bold innovator ti first to so could be you!

* HEY, ARE YOU WRITING THREE/DELGADO!MASTER FIC/MAKING RELATED ART? We're about half-way-ish through that challenge: not this upcoming Sunday, but THE 7th OF JULY (yeah, sorry it started so weirdly late), it ends. It'd be awesome if we could have the kind of turn out we did last time, which was pretty h-c0r of us all.

* A lot of you seem to be having trouble replying to the specific fic on the anon meme you'd like to comment on, rather than to the meme generally (which is of course a little confusing, b/c it's not always clear what your feedback is intended for). What you need to do is hit 'reply' specifically on the comment/fic you want to comment on, and NOT to the post as a whole at the top of the page: making sure you hit the RIGHT reply button is something to keep in mind so that you're comment doesn't go astray, a signifier without a signified, lost in a meaningless semantic void from which there is no hope of salvation. ...yeeeeah.

* Do consider writing an Anon Pr0n for our meme/tossing a prompt in the ring: while not as vast as the Other Anon Meme, I can fairly say we've enjoyed on the whole a consistently high quality of responses, which, while it has its shining jewels, the Big Meme can't necessarily say: in other words, our little Meme has done good service, and if you could toss some porn at it, that would be way cool. I at least would have something to read. :p

marah_sarie suggested we do a bit of a greenbubblewrap thing and watch old Master eps as a com, thus giving people new to Old Who a chance to express squee, confusion, etc. without feeling intimidated by gigantic fuckoff canon and get into it with a bit of structure: a 'lil arc a week? Y'all can do that! It also gives people who are kinda old-who veterans a chance to dust off old faves and view them with new vim. (I like that word. Viiiiim.)

As marah_sarie pointed out, we would love nothing more than to find a vast living room, throw on a DVD and make popcorn, but 1) we live on different continents and 2) we do not have sufficient popcorn. No pressure to watch! It's communal lovin', not homework, we just think it would be fun and take people from being like "Old Who: vast and scary, like dark continent of television" to more of a "Ah yes, A CHAIR ATE A BITCH in that ep. Quite. Lulz." place.

I will say that with period television (and sadly I don't remember who I'm paraphrasing here), you don't have to lower your expectations, but you do have to adjust them. Sometimes the special effects will be uncool. Sometimes the film will be grainy. Sometimes Some Utter Bastard will have lost the color copy of one of your favorite Who eps and you have to watch it in black and white despite it being well into the color era and why, cruel god why--*cough* yes. Anyway. Yes. It's not bad! But it is different.
