Author: [livejournal.com profile] janeturenne

It's enough to drive a practically sane madman out of his lunatic mind.

Recs

Today I'm going to rec two fics, a story and its remix. Quite often remixes can be read independently of their originals. In fact, I read this remix first, and thought I understood it (after reading it a second time, and wrapping my mind around its twisty-ness) but then I read the original, and, oh. I reccommend reading the the remix first so you can enjoy a good D/M fic before getting to the twist.

Title: You Will Be Me (The When I'm Gone Ontological Tautology Remaster)
Pairing: Theta/Koschei, Three/Delgado!Master, Shalka, Six/Ainley!Master, Seven/Ainley!Master
Length:2367 words
Warnings: this will break your brain
Author on LJ (or Teaspoon, or Prydonian): Nope (that's actually the author's name)
Why this must be read: Because it supplies us with two missing scenes I've been craving for a long time: one right after "The Daemons" and the other right before the TVM with Seven and Ainley!Master on Skaro. Because it's a cool remix (especially once you get to the bonus feature extended endings) that manages to add YET ANOTHER TWIST to a story that you didn't think could be twistier (this, my friends, is the fanfic of Seven's dreams). Because you can read it three times in a row and each time discover something new. Because the Master cryptically quotes the Beatles and Zagreus and the Doctor himself at the Doctor, and they play chess in a way that's not already clichéd, and generally are friends far more than enemies.

And now the original:

Title: All You Doctors
Characters: Seven, Ace
Length:
Warnings: this will break your brain even more
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] biichan
Why this must be read:
You can tell some really complicated stories about time travel. And then you can tell stories like this one. The chicken and the egg? Have nothing on this. If you love Seven, or paradoxes, or crazy thought experiments, you will love this.

Who's excited for Six watch/listen night? Me. I'm excited. Unfortunately, I also work all weekend, so I won't be there (except in spirit). To cover up for my disappointment in my schedule, I made art. Quick, colorful art.

Love for Six and all he represents is popping up a lot in these parts of late. And since audios have made all and sundry aware of Six's abiding love for cake and [livejournal.com profile] alex_e_smith has made everyone aware that Six and Ainley are incredibly married and have a holiday home on Venus, it seemed logical to combine all three elements.

Since all Doctors are created equal, and one man's scary-eyed untouchable Four is another's 70s-haired sex god, I thought I'd make a D/M sticker for every canon era, so that all may enjoy their oh-tee-pee, and seeing several pairings they never wanted to envisage in the first place.

Of course, they're only physical stickers for me. They're just little pictures for everyone else, but they do come in equation and pretentious verse flavours.

More from the Schmoop list. One a day until the end of... er, well not time, but the list is quite long. Quite.

Bandwagon, meet my wild leap. This is not exactly part of the schmoop challenge so much as something taking advantage of the crack and wibbliness it entails to make something truly horrifying. And also I want to break Alex.

So. As you may or may not have heard, chat is the place to be. And sometimes, in chat, Things are said. Words are exchanged. Challenges are issued.

Peoples of b_e, the gauntlet has been thrown. We have a list of schmoopy prompts. We have a group of people urging us on faaar past the point someone should have cried Uncle. And some of us have not slept for days. Clearly this is the time to inflict the results of this madcap adventure on you lovely folks. For Greater Glory. For Gallifrey. For crack. And, having seen [livejournal.com profile] brokenangelred's responses for this week, for awesome awesome dark!fic. Because we are easy like that, schmoop be damned.

I don't know if I can do this every week guys, but with [livejournal.com profile] brokenangelred and [livejournal.com profile] tula_peiwa cracking the whip I may not have a choice. The only consolation is that they're going straight to hell with me. And you know. I get to see them produce some pretty awesome stuff. For myself? Well, this week we have Crispy, marriage and kidverse. I feel things can only improve from here.

Prompts: secret admirer, baking cookies, fair/carnival, proposal – public place, reading aloud )

Annnnnd that's a wrap. Oh dignity. Sweet dignity. Come back bb. I miss you.

Honestly, I stumbled innocently into this. I was just out for a nice night at the opera, but no. It can never be that simple, can it? Well, I couldn't let my dear friends go through this alone, now, could I? ... of course I could, but it looked like so much fun and I was in no mood to be left behind.

Onward!

Well, I didn't say it'd be good

Don't let the title mislead you; there isn't a stage production of Who (although that does apparently exist) behind the link.
It's a pseudo-musical, or rather a playlist (because that hasn't been done before). A really long playlist with a narrative structure and at least one D/M song for every era. So yes, it's 'Doctor/Master: The Musical' if musicals were generally overlong barely cohesive melanges taken from a really narrow spectrum of bands.

Peoples of b_e please attend carefully--

I've noticed a disturbing trend on the comm of late. It seems we are overrun with art of amazing quality and fantastic skill.

WELL I SAY NO MORE all your quality are belong to me )

Oh, and by "no more" I mean "moar plz"

Just so we're clear.

Title: The Scent of Funeral Pyres
Characters/Pairing: Six, implied Six/Master
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Doctor Who is not mine.
Summary: No matter how hard he tried, he never could get rid of that horrible smell.

Author's Notes: So somehow [livejournal.com profile] vforvegan talked me into writing a Six/Crispy drabble. I am sure that is not what you had in mind V, and a lot less porny (like no at all) than you probably would prefer, but hope you enjoy it anyway.

Okay, there was a spontaneous watch along to the Colony in Space on disposable chat just now. Things got off topic (as they do) and mentions were made of Doctor Who specific drinks. Then... this happened. You can read it as a chatfic if you like, or just as inspiration for your own fic. It even kinda fulfills this week's prompt. I didn't really polish it up because I think that off topic squee is half the fun. Involves Three, Delgado!Master, Brig, Six and Ainley!Master. If you're wondering where [livejournal.com profile] tula_peiwa 's pic idea came from, this is it.
