aralias seems to think this warrants being waved at communities in a sort of enthusiastic HEY LOOK I WROTE A THING kind of way, so... this seems like a place for it. Maybe? It's not terribly slashy but it does have the pairing of choice living together in
harmony mutual loathing and bickerment, so y'all may like it.
Title: Verteidigungskrieg.
Rating: All Ages.
Category: AU.
Sub-Category: war story.
Characters: REG!Nine, android!Master, Alison Cheney, Colonel von Lossberg (real historical bloke) and several author-created German types.
Spoilers: Immediately follows 'Scream of the Shalka', and... err... ahm... can you spoil the Battle of Passendale?
Warnings: contains a mildly intense, physical depiction of shellshock (Episode One) and implied hypnosis (Episode Two).
Summary: The Doctor's as-yet-unidentified superiors send the TARDIS to Passendale, 26th July 1917, where something odd is going on. Bodies are disappearing from no-man's-land, someone's been stealing mustard gas, and one of the nurses at the field hospital is acting very strangely...
Auteur's Note: Verteidigungskrieg is German for 'defensive warfare', and my favourite word in any language. Cheers to
ashteth for instigation and beta-reading. Also, I apologise if my rusty GCSE German fails at any point.
