Best Enemies

It's been a while, hasn't it babies? But it's challenge time again! And we have a tripartite bonanza of fanish fun for all!

1) We're having an AU-Challenge. The first part of this will be for

* free style fanart, and
* fanfic under 20,000 words long.

This challenge will conclude ONE month from now: July 3rd . Please post your stuff with this challenge tag!

2) Have you noticed that we don't have a lot of long-fic up in this pairing? WELL. Running during the aforementioned, but also after it ends, b_e is having its first Big Bang Challenge! For those who don't know, a Big Bang Challenge unites long fic with fanart. Sometimes they have Themes. Ours has a Theme! That Theme is: AU.

Because we're a small pairing with a small pool of artists and writers, we're going to have to do a non-traditional structure here:

Writers:

* if you've already started, and even started posting, your AU long-fic? Fine. We want it! so for example, blackletter 's excellent Valeyard/Ainley!Master fic would be totally kosher--it just has to be finished within the Writing Period to count.
* You are encouraged to sign up here, and to tell us a little about your idea, but not required to do so.
* Rather than holding off to post everything at the end of the writing period, as with traditional Big Bang, you are ENCOURAGED (but NOT required) to post chapters during the writing period--we have too few people to demand radio silence while they're all distracted with big projects.
* Fic in this category will be over 20,000 words in length.

At the end of a writing period of FOUR MONTHS, (October 3rd), writing should be COMPLETE AND POSTED. Only fic completed by the end of the writing period will be assigned a fanartist. We'll make a Chat Room for participating writers, and some Talk Posts as things progress--more on that later.

Please register below, and if you have a general fic idea, let us know! While registering and beans-spilling aren't required, they fuel my prurient curiosity. I'll do a Fic Roundup Post at the end of four months.

Betas:

All long fic should be beta'd. All betas should be credited in the header info. Once you have some writing down, ask the com for a beta if you haven't got one. I'm not the Quality Police, and I'm not gonna second guess you if you say it happened, but it's in your own best interest (as well as that of all your readers) to BE beta'd, thoroughly and well. None of this 'I only want a human spellcheck and a few pointers on grammar' shit, b/c that's not proper betaing.

Artists:

* Once the writing period begins, I'll throw your names into the Goblet of Fire and assign artists to fics. Artists will have one month to do their Thang (October 3rd--November 3rd). They can post when they like, and I'll do a round-up post at the month's end.
* If you're interested, I need you to comment below! Tell me If you'd like to do one piece or two, and if you can pinch-hit should someone have to drop out.
* Also let me know anything I SHOULD know. Shit like: 'I've only seen New Who,' 'I'd prefer to work with classic,' 'If I have to illustrate a fic with non-con it it I will throw up on you,' 'if I have to illustrate a fic in which Jack and Ianto shag the drums out of Simm!Master while Ten Morris Dances around the trio, weeping softly, I will throw up on EVERYTHING.' Help me to help you! I wanna match you with something you will DELIGHT in arting! A fic makes you wanna Morris Dance around your computer. Weeping softly.

WHAT IS AU IN THIS FANDOM: God I don't know. Do you know? It could be anything from the sometimes-whispered-of world where Ainley!Master and Five are figure skaters circa the 80s, and the Master's from the Soviet block, and Five is such an Ice Princess it's not true, and they have to ICE DANCE TOGETHER OMFG to something much more... sane, a la every Ten/Simm!Master Traveling Together Fic Ever.
